Automation Test Lead

We are looking for full time Test Automation Lead to join our team.

The Role

In this role, we are looking for an experienced Automation Test Lead to take ownership of the automated testing strategies used across many of the teams here at GOSS. You will have a proven track record in QA, automation testing and driving change across the business, building upon the good practice already in place and leading in areas identified for improvement. You will own the company's testing strategy scoping, producing, and implementing project test strategies that cover test team structure, tools, automated functional, performance and security testing, development methodology and risk. Supporting and managing QA team members who are working on projects across various parts of the business you will promote effective collaboration, knowledge sharing across teams and be a quality coach for our development teams. You will contribute to project status meetings, agile planning, and daily scrums whilst creating an environment that promotes a high level of software quality.

You will be responsible for risk identification, documentation, and impact assessment, then working to mitigate those risks. You will plan, prepare and facilitating UAT sessions as well as monitoring and reporting testing progress across teams. You will be responsible for reviewing test requirements based on software design and functional requirement documentation whilst also engaging and communicating with key business and client stakeholders

To support your success in this role we anticipate you'll spend the first few months familiarising yourself with the complete GOSS product range. You'll get hands-on with our existing QA team, testing ongoing product and client projects. With our development teams you'll work to enhance our QA strategy defining performance indicators to measure our software quality trajectory.

Once you're up to speed you'll be supporting, coaching and mentoring the development teams across the business, reporting back on the KPIs defined, and using feedback to review and improve the way QA and testing is carried out across our teams.

The Person

We are looking for someone who has advanced knowledge of software testing theories and practice, with significant experience of website testing. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of automated testing covering functional web testing, end to end, multi-platform integration testing, and non-functional testing including accessibility, performance, and security. You will be experienced in running coaching sessions and providing individual support to developers to improve their testing and risk analysis skills. You have previously worked in an agile environment and worked on multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in implementing automation tools and frameworks to improve the QA and development process is required. This may include building new bespoke tools. Demonstrable experience in software QA with well-developed exploratory testing skills and an understanding and appreciation of user journeys and customer experience. Knowledge of JMeter and JavaScript would be advantageous.
