NEW Asset and Resource Management Product Released

GOSS officially launched their newly developed Asset and Resource Management product (iAM) at Internet World 2006 which was held at Earls Court 2, over 3 days from the 9th May.

The iAM product focuses on an area of asset management that is generally bundled into larger and more expensive Enterprise Resource Planning systems. General Manager of Business Development for GOSS, Nigel Matthews says, "This will be attractive to a number of organisations who need an efficient way to manage assets and resources at reasonable cost. We have identified the important bit and that is the content and scheduling around an organisations assets and resources."

iAM is built around a web based resource booking system that enables effective scheduling, booking and management of resources including tracking and monitoring. Resources are contained within 'stores' or 'rooms' and can be booked online by users. This integrated solution enables real time availability to users and provides a workflowfor the booking processes within an organisation. The application gives multiple levels of access to resources allowing for departmental integration enabling inventory control andprocurement analysis. The application can also assign competency levels; complex or expensive equipment can be marked asrequiring a user to be competent or trained to use the resource.

The iAM application has the added feature of being able to electronically store all related and associated documentation alongside the item; including technical specifications and training manuals. Documentation can be viewed as PDFs or any other type of electronic documentation for example Worddocuments butcould also be Flash, images, audio or video for training purposes.
