Implementation of dynamic council service status using easy colour coding to indicate weather a service is fully operational, limited or closed. The services currently recorded are:
- Care
- Leisure
- Libraries
- Schools
- Waste
- Parking
All services are plotted on a map using Google Maps in GOSS iCM. Service providers can use mail-to-web to send in service updates for instant publishing.
Mobile services are also plotted on a map via GPS as they travel their route. Great for:
- Mobile libraries
- Meals-on-wheels
- Rubbish trucks and waste disposal
- Gritting lorries
And for an intranet many more service vehicles could be GPS tracked.
Personal engagement
A gadget is available to add to iGoogle which illustrates the service status on a map with additional controls to refine the geographic location (e.g. Newbury) and service type (e.g. Leisure).
Individual service statuses can be tweeted or shared on Facebook.
Individual service statuses can be subscribe to. With this functionality an email is sent automatically to the subscribe when the service status changes.
