Councils sometimes face emergencies that need to be communicated to all citizens as easily and quickly as possible. Their website is a key tool for this, but also the ability to spread content via social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. Swansea City Council did just that when dozens of schools in their region were shut due to snowy conditions.
