From 25th November 2010, heavy snow started to fall in North Yorkshire. The County Council website received a 100% traffic spike to their website, hosted by GOSS. On the website information was available on:
- Gritting routes and priorities
- School closures
- Live weather
- Live web cams of traffic hot spots
- Maps of gritting routes
- Links to social media
Content was also pushed out to social media sites such as twitter.
