How can I crop or resize an image in iCM?

Image media items are comprised of image components. The current component being worked on can be viewed below the work area. Mandatory image components are created automatically by the image editor, non-mandatory image components must be created using the option within the Image editor tolls in the top-right of the pop-up.

 The default set is:

thumbnail (normally mandatory)
image (normally mandatory)
large

Use the + and - buttons to resize the image in the work area then click in the Workspace, and drag the mouse pointer to create a selection frame.  (You may need to click or double-click into a clear section of the workspace to remove the current selection).

Click the green tick to create [image component] to create a preview of the image from the selection in the Workspace.

Subject to iCM User privileges, the size of the image can be changed by updating the values (sized in pixels ) in the "Image size constraint boxes" below the Workspace area. To modify the amount of jpeg compression (to increase or decrease the final size of the file uploaded) the % jpeg image quality value may be changed by entering a new value.

All images will be converted to jpeg format if the iCM image editor is used. To preserve the images' native size and file format tick the 'ignore constraints' checkbox. For "mandatory" image components, it will be necessary to click the "Create [component]" option from the Actions panel to ensure the constraints are bypassed.
