Brittany Ferries has re-launched its website with a new design and functionality that makes booking and searching for holidays even easier. The website was built by GOSS Interactive and uses Web Content Management software, GOSS iCM (intelligent Content Management), for the daily administration of the website.

Matt Randle, Internet Services Manager, Brittany Ferries comments, "We're really pleased with the work that has been carried out on the site. The new search function allows customers to be really specific about what they search for to create their perfect holiday: from hotels with gyms, to cottages where pets are welcome. We've also seen a huge increase in the number of pages that Google is indexing; in just over two months it has leaped from 3000 to 308,000 pages, and shows no signs of stopping; this is really helping to improve our natural SEO."

The primary reason for the new build was to increase the volume of holiday packages that are booked through the site, and to give the site a fresh, new look. The holiday search function has been transformed from a linear process to a filtered search system, known as faceted search. Customers can now choose exactly what they want from a holiday, by being in full control of the criteria by which they search. Other new functions on the site now include an updated booking widget, a tab panel, gallery and RSS feeds.

Rob McCarthy, Managing Director, GOSS Interactive, adds, "We are delighted to continue to work with Brittany Ferries, helping to deliver improved functionality to the new website. The site is now more visually appealing and easier for customers to navigate.

"Implementing the new faceted search technology, with dynamically created friendly URLs will drive traffic to the site and no doubt continue to drive up Google Indexing rankings."

Brittany Ferries plans to roll out the re-skin to its French and Irish sites in the not too distant future, with further plans to include a Google maps function on the UK site.
