The use of GOSS iCM will allow the Met Office to better manage the life-cycle of content on its website. In addition, it will improve the targeting of content for specialist groups, such as those which have a requirement for weather and climate information. GOSS was selected to deliver the project because of the ease-of-use and standards based approach with in GOSS iCM. The technology also fit with Met Office core technologies and the robust product development methodology. GOSS iCM comes with an easy-to-use interface for content creation, with workflows and scheduling to ensure content is managed efficiently. Content can be re-used and re-purposed within single or multiple websites, which will help to deliver information to specific groups. Charles Ewen, Head of Web and Business Services, Met Office, comments "We selected GOSS to help us effectively manage the content lifecycle as well as targeting content more effectively to the benefit of our users."
